Frames in a clip

A clip can have a frame over the view. Frames can be built-in ones or a flat sheet you made. This works the same as Frame it .

Adding a frame

Camera Frame is in the More row in Clip organizer . It opens Camera Frame with these options: None, built-in frames (with their shape after the name), your patterns of the Frame kind, and any flat sheet in the current shot. Plays puts the frame on This shot or Whole clip. Words show in turn, above the frame.

One frame, one shape

Each frame has one shape: 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, 9:16, or 3:2. Adding a frame changes the clip’s shape to match, and a note says so. Changing the shape in the Camera’s Clip Framing page takes the frame off.

Make a frame

Make a frame… is in the Camera Frame row under Atmosphere › On display (see Frame it ). This starts a blank flat fig in the shape you picked. Paint it, place it in the scene, and it shows in the frame list.

Patterns can be frames too. On New pattern, select Frame, pick the shape, paint the border, and save. The pattern then shows in the frame list everywhere, with its shape after the name.

A frame made on New pattern › Frame goes along with a shared clip or scene and inside a .scene file: people watching see it, and it lands in their library as a Frame.
