Pin to a face

Pin to a face is the exact way to put a photo on a face, for when sliding the photo under the net will not line up. You pick the face, you pick the region, and the face takes that region corner to corner.

The flow

1. On the Photo card, arm Pin to a face.
2. Tap the face that should receive the photo.
3. Corner pins and edge pins land on the photo. Drag each corner pin onto a corner of the region you want: the label of the jar, one window of the building, the cat’s face.
4. Drag an edge pin and that edge bows, so the region’s sides can curve.
5. Press Stamp the face. The face takes the region, stretched corner to corner.

An unstamped photo stays with the fig and comes back when you reopen Paint. ✕ on the Photo card puts it away.

The pins can sit anywhere in the photo, so the region can be slanted: pinning the four corners of a photographed poster squares it onto the face, the same idea as Warp it with the result living on one face.

When to use which

• Slide and stamp (the ordinary photo flow): a photo across many faces, fast.
• Pin to a face: one face, one exact region.
• Warp it: fix the whole photo’s perspective before stamping anywhere.

Stamped pixels are ordinary paint at the face’s resolution, so the pinned region pixelates like every stamp.
