Snapshots

A snapshot is a ready-made setting with a photo backdrop. The lighting, the floor’s position, and the masks (foreground cutouts) are set up ahead of time. Figs placed in a snapshot get matching light and perspective on their own.

The Snapshot of the day

The Today tab has the Snapshot of the day: a photo setting that changes every day, showing the most recently edited fig marked “Finished” from your library. If no figs are marked Finished, it uses the most recently edited fig. The card shows the place’s name and a caption (e.g., Paris and Pip at the Eiffel Tower). When a photo pack is featured, the day’s photo comes from that pack and the line above it reads From the featured photo pack, [pack]. Tap it and the whole scene is yours to edit.

Select Build › or tap the preview image to make a new photo scene from the snapshot. The app sets the image as the camera backdrop, turns the masks into flat 2D cutouts (standees), and places the fig at the set spot facing the camera. The new scene is named after the fig and the place (e.g., Pip in Paris) and opens on the World tab at Setting › Photo. Normal scene editing and Camera tools work.

Save it saves the current preview as a PNG. View all opens the Snapshots gallery.

The rack

The Snapshots window has a header and a close button (×). The top says which fig is in the previews (Your newest finished fig is in every photo, or Your newest fig is in every photo). A hint reads Tap a photo to make it a scene you can change.

Snapshots are sorted by pack. New packs arrive without an app update. When a pack is featured, a Featured row of its cards (under the pack’s name and description) leads the window, and that pack isn’t repeated below. The World tour pack has real places around the world. Other packs follow under their own names; places in no pack go under More places. Cards show the place’s name and a caption for the spot (e.g., at the Eiffel Tower). Select a card to make a scene from it. The window closes with ×, Escape, or clicking outside it.

The Snapshots shelf on the Scenes tab shows this gallery as a sideways scrolling row. The featured pack’s cards lead the row, each marked Featured. Pick from a pack in the photo scene picker lists the same packs, the featured one first. Select a card to make the scene, or select View all at the end of the row to open the full window. A snapshot on the New scene card also opens this window.

Stand spots

Some snapshots have more than one set spot (stand spots). The Snapshot of the day picks one of the spots each day, changing where the fig stands among the foreground cutouts. Cards in the Snapshots window show more than one spot in their caption (e.g., · 2 spots).

The tile on the Figs tab

The Figs tab puts the day’s snapshot right in the grid as a triple-width (double-width on a phone) tile. Its place in the grid changes randomly each day. For libraries with fewer than 30 pieces, the tile shows only some of the time. Select the tile to make a scene from it.
