Corners: Closer & Farther
Grab a few corners and pull them together or spread them apart. The pointwise cousin of Wider & Thinner.
Closer and Farther work on grabbed corners the way Wider & Thinner works on a whole ring : they scale the spread between your grabbed points around their shared middle. Closer pulls them together, Farther pushes them apart.
Where they live
Open Corners, the fourth action on the Nudge card, and tap the dots on the model to grab points. Once more than one corner is grabbed, a switch appears:
- Move steps every grabbed corner along an axis: ↔ Side, ⤢ Front, ↕ Up.
- Distance is this pair: Closer and Farther, scaling the gap between the corners themselves.
How a press moves
Each press is one step of the Small / Med / Big size, and everything lands back on the grid. Grab the four corners of a face and Farther flares it like a trumpet bell; grab two opposite corners and Closer pinches just that diagonal. The un-grabbed corners never move, which is the difference from ring tools: a ring drags its whole loop, Corners moves exactly the dots you picked.
A press that would fold the surface through itself, or push a corner past the world’s edge, is refused whole and nothing changes.
Closer then Farther (or the reverse) lands you exactly where you started. Every press is one honest grid step.
