Back up everything

The Library tab in Settings has Back up everything. This makes a single .unflat file holding all figs, scenes, patterns, sets, clips with audio, texture pages, favorites, followed creators, blocked makers, and saved ideas, along with sound, music, and vibration settings.

When the backup is made, the share sheet opens. Save the file to your device, a cloud drive, or a drive you plug in.

Restoring a Backup

To restore a backup, open the .unflat file in Ünflat:

• iOS / iPadOS: Tap the file in the Files app.
• Android: Tap the file in any file manager.
• In-App: Select Open a file on the New fig or New scene window.

Restoring a backup adds items to your library without deleting anything. An item that is the same as one you have isn’t copied again. If you have one that was changed, the incoming one is added as a copy named [name] (from another device); yours is never replaced. Favorites, followed creators, and blocked makers merge without doubles. Saved ideas and settings are restored only on a device that has none yet, and the app then reloads. Deleted items that are in a .unflat backup come back when you restore it. On the free plan, the items a backup adds count toward the free limits : if they would go past one, the Plus sheet opens and nothing is restored.

Back up some items

To export some items instead of the whole library:

1. Open the Library.
2. Tap Select on the Library toolbar.
3. Choose the items and tap Export.

One item exports as its own file (.fig, .scene, .pattern). A single scene that has clips exports as a .unflat file instead, so its clips go with it. Several items go into one .unflat file holding everything they use (models, textures, clips, and audio).
